Ross Gilchrist is a seasoned leader and an experienced coach to c-suite leaders and entrepreneurs. Before co-creating The Next Institute, Ross was the CEO of a boutique financial group. He served as Chief Marketing Officer for a $50 million national financial services company. He was a highly successful entrepreneur and coach, building a workshop and speaking enterprise focused on coaching entrepreneurs and professionals in Canada and the United States. He has been a senior executive in a multi-billion dollar international corporation.
As CEO and senior leader, Ross was an agent of change. He initiated creative reorientation of the enterprise. He attracted and developed talent. He sought out acquisitions and joint ventures. He created new profit centres. He spearheaded marketing and brand strategies that resulted in complete brand revitalization. He designed and implemented extensive coaching programs for team members and associates.
As coach to high-performing, experienced entrepreneurs, Ross generated quantum leap breakthroughs for clients. At RedStone, Ross' boutique coaching firm, he worked one-on-one with select clients, using his Inside-Out Leadership process to create clarity of focus, alignment of values, excellence in packaging and communications, purposeful branding, and unprecedented business success. As The Strategic Coach™ for western Canada and the Pacific Northwest, Ross led multiple series of quarterly three-year workshops teaching new fundamentals for entrepreneuring success. He led over 200 workshops, and spoke throughout North America and as far afield as South Africa.
In his earliest c-suite position, Ross led a national organization with $80 million in revenue, 11 regional offices, and a network of over 10,000 independent insurance agents and brokers. Ross has a keen eye for talent. One of his strongest contributions is to spot, attract, and coach the talent that will bring the biggest results for both the organization and the individual. He has a capacity for recognizing the giftedness in people even before they see it in themselves, and coaching that giftedness into action.
Ross' excellence arises from his extensive corporate and entrepreneurial business experience, his creativity as a strategic and intuitive leader, and his passion for and ability to recognize and develop talent. He is a seeker and a lifelong learner. Ross lives with his life partner, Janet Alford, in Vancouver, Canada. He is a dedicated entrepreneur, and he knows the power of living and working on purpose.
